- Translate product design features from engineering drawing files into CNC programs.
- Write and verify programs to ensure accuracy in collaboration with manufacturing.
- Update programs as needed due to engineering changes or manufacturing requirements.
- Manage program revision control and security.
- Support the Manufacturing Engineering Department in technology project planning to optimize Setup and Run times.
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology.
- Ensure all programming software is up to date and functioning correctly.
- Implement system changes and updates.
- Maintain network activity and equipment related to CNC programs.
- Manage DNC application modules and address issues and functional requirements.
- Supervise new machine connections to DNC.
- Perform other technical duties as needed or assigned by superiors.
- Required: Associates degree from a two-year College or trade school, with education or work experience in a CAD/CAM software package.
- Preferred: Associates degree from a two-year College or trade school, and/or 3 to 5 years of equivalent manufacturing experience in a programming role. Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Technology, or Manufacturing Engineering from a four-year College or University.
- Programming experience is beneficial, although not mandatory.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in applying mathematical concepts to practical scenarios.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
- The employee may need to stand, handle objects, reach, talk, and listen frequently. Occasionally, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crawling may be necessary. Lifting up to 50 pounds is common, with occasional lifting up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities like close vision, color vision, and depth perception are required.
- Onsite presence is necessary for this role to execute essential duties.
- Working in a Production Floor environment is typical for this role.
- The job may involve exposure to manufacturing plant conditions and occasional outdoor work.
- Limited travel might be needed to support offsite personnel and projects.
