    Traffic Incident Management Engineer (Civil Engineer Transportation Senior or Advanced ).

    This position is in the Bureau of Traffic Operations and can be headquartered in either Madison (4822 Madison Yards Way) or Milwaukee (433 W.

    St Paul Ave).

    Position Summary

    This position coordinates the incident management program activities on a statewide basis.

    This position will work in close coordination with programmatic support staff, including the TIME Program manager, to develop and implement polices and procedures related to quick incident clearance, incident debriefs, move over law, evacuation, emergency traffic operations (ETO) and alternate route planning activities.

    This position will also be responsible for hosting regional stakeholder meetings and investigating funding and possible implementation of concepts developed through these groups' inputs.

    Other position responsibilities include assisting with the development of detour routes, corridor traffic operations planning related to incident management and alternate route planning, assist in the development of grant application and other funding requests for incident management priority projects.

    Salary Information

    The

    Senior

    level position is in schedule-range 14-13 with an

    annual salary of $79,269 - $97,448

    depending upon qualifications and experience.

    The

    Advanced

    level position is in schedule-range 14-13 with an

    annual salary of $88,296 - $106,808

    depending on qualifications and experience. The Advanced level also receives up to an additional $2,080/year for having your Professional Engineering license.

    WisDOT also offers excellent benefits. A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

    Job Details

    Qualifications

    A well-qualified

    Senior

    candidate will have the following:


    A 4-year degree in Civil Engineering (or a Masters or PhD) or a related engineering field from an ABET accredited University, Wisconsin EIT Credential, Professional Engineer (PE) credential (if non-Wisconsin PE, a Wisconsin PE must be obtained within 3 months of hire) or have documentation from the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services that deems the individual a professional engineer and qualified to engage in professional engineering practices.

    At least 4 years of professional engineering experience after receiving degree from an ABET accredited University in design, construction or maintenance of transportation structures.

    A well-qualified

    Advanced

    candidate will have the above experience as well as:


    A valid Professional Engineering registration and be able to obtain a Wisconsin PE registration within 3 months if PE registration is from another state.
