    Description

    Position Summary: The Automation Technology & Systems Manager is tasked with overseeing the design, construction, modification, and maintenance of equipment and machinery, as well as managing the design function of closing/assembly automation. This role involves coordinating with external vendors for automation systems construction, directing technical aspects within various engineering departments, and ensuring efficient operations and cost-effectiveness.

    Responsibilities:

    • Supervise external vendors for automation systems construction from initial specifications and quotations through fabrication and qualification.
    • Provide direction in Electric/Electronic, Automation Engineering, and Process Development departments to ensure efficient operations and cost-effectiveness.
    • Coordinate internal and external workforce to achieve project completions on time and within budget.
    • Assume total system responsibility, including automation, injection molding machine, injection molding process, and auxiliary equipment, along with process engineering and improvement projects.
    • Oversee demand-side energy maintenance programs and review energy invoices.
    • Establish new equipment standards and ensure compliance with pollution control regulations.
    • Coordinate requirements for new designs, surveys, and maintenance schedules for equipment and machinery, both internally and externally.
    • Develop and manage budgets within approved guidelines.
    • Recruit, train, and develop technical staff.
    • Test newly installed machines and equipment to ensure compliance with contract specifications and authorize payment accordingly.
    • Maintain chemical control reporting, review MSDS sheets, and recommend appropriate use and personal protective equipment (PPE).

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
    • Experience with electrical/electronics.
    • 5+ years of experience in automation.
    • Previous supervisory experience.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
