    Description

    The Stryten factory in Salina, Kansas is one of the largest lead-acid battery manufacturing sites in North America with 800 employees capable of producing more than 35,000 quality batteries per day.

    These batteries can be found in your car, in your boat or RV, or, in your lawn and garden equipment.

    Stryten proudly supports the local community by regularly participating in Project Salina, the Salvation Army Angel Tree program, and providing more than 100 volunteers for the Smoky Hill River Festival.

    The Training Supervisor will be responsible for the develop competencies of individual employees by designing and conducting training programs that will enhance employee's workplace performance.

    This role supervises and assists the training coordinator and the material handler trainer to train new employees in all required operations and manufacturing tasks specific to their department.

    You will be responsible for tracking and performing training needs assessments, designing, and delivering curriculum and learning materials for managing all phases of training interventions.


    Directly supervises and assists the training coordinator and material handling trainer with all training activities
    Map out annual training plans for management and operators
    Design and develop training programs using training manuals, work instructions / SOP's and videos
    Select appropriate training methods or activities (e.g. simulations, mentoring, on-the-job training)
    Track training by employee and maintain records
    Conduct site-wide training needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed
    Use known education principles and stay up-to-date on new training methods and techniques
    Develop and prepare educational/training aids and materials, as needed
    Develop training metrics and competency assessments to gauge overall impact of training program
    Assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on employee skills and KPIs
    Track feedback from trainers and trainees after each educational session
    Maintain updated curriculum database and training records
    Manage and maintain in-house training facilities and equipment
    Evaluate effectiveness of training courses and provide summary reports to management, determine impact of training on employee skills and corporate goals
    Assesses training needs.
    Monitor employee performance and response to training
    Comply with current Quality Systems requirements.
    Follow safety policies to include the use of PPE.

    Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment such as gloves, respirator, safety glasses, metatarsal guard shoes, etc., as required in established policy.

    Must work from 10 inches to 60 inches above the floor and reach 24 inches side to side
    Bachelor's degree in education, training, manufacturing, or related field preferred
    Experience developing learning strategies that include digital learning preferred
    Work experience as a trainer, coach, or training facilitator, preferably in a manufacturing environment
    Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, familiarity with web delivery tools
