Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring strong ortho and total joint procedure expertise.

Responsibilities

• Hospital setting in an Operating Room department
• Day shifts, 5x8 hour schedule, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• Primary focus on orthopedic surgeries, including total joint procedures
• Electronic Medical Record used is Epic; recent experience within the past 6 months is required
• Required to work at least every other holiday
• Assessments are required during orientation, with up to two attempts allowed before contract is canceled
• Travelers must complete BCI/FBI fingerprints within 48 hours of signing the contract
• Annual modules and initial modules must be completed as required by the facility
• Locals are accepted at the same bill rate
• Travelers may not return to the facility for one year from their previous end date
• Assignments may not exceed 18 consecutive months without a mutually agreed extension
• All travelers must have a negative 10-panel drug and nicotine screen within 12 months of start
• Nurses are currently exempt from the nicotine-free facility requirement

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at the time of consideration
• Minimum of 18 months recent permanent Operating Room RN experience prior to travel
• Strong orthopedic OR experience with total joint procedures required
• Current AHA or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Epic charting experience within the last 6 months required
• Must provide one recent reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, director, or charge RN in the specialty
• ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessments must be passed during orientation
