    The Position

    Kaufman, Hall & Associates, LLC, is seeking a Senior Associate in the Performance Improvement Practice. This individual will be primarily responsible for developing key hypothesis, designing supporting analyses, and completing analytical work product used to drive the client's strategic decision making. The Senior Associate will have exposure to multiple clients at any given time and will attend on-site meetings with hospital and system-level senior management and Board members as appropriate.

    The essential functions of the position are:

    • Help create and apply industry-leading solutions to the most challenging strategic and organizational issues facing our clients
    • Develop analytical fact-based research, thought leadership and best practices to support strategic decisions in a client-ready format
    • Help create and apply industry-leading solutions to the most challenging strategic and operational issues facing our clients
    • Research and develop client-specific hypothesis, leveraging Kaufman Hall subject matter experts, proprietary softwareand resources, to provide recommendations on strategic and financial planning and optimization
    • Lead interviews with hospital administration, Board and medical staff leaders; managing, validating, and organizing datacollected both from clients, as well as third party vendors
    • Keep Managers apprised of projects to ensure critical milestones are met, timelines are adhered to and changes areproperly communicated
    • Build presentations and completed work product to be presented to clients and Board members
    • Participate in the development of publications and industry research
    • Support the needs of the practice beyond client-specific work as required

    Primary Responsibilities:

    The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three to six years of progressive experience in and a passion for the healthcare industry, with previous consulting experience preferred. We are seeking highly motivated individuals with a strong history of academic excellence and leadership, personally and professionally.

    In addition, the successful candidate will possess the following:

    • An in-depth understanding of key healthcare trends, information sources, and strategic planning and finance
    • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI and SQL
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • A highly intelligent individual with a substantial degree of intellectual curiosity.
    • A career-motivated professional who is energetic and possesses a superb work ethic.
    • A self-starter who is able to work well independently. Possesses a high level of self- confidence and an entrepreneurial spirit.
    • Strong people management and client relationship skills
    • An outgoing individual who has excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; able to present effectively to senior management and boards, both on the phone and in person.

    • Willingness and ability to travel, on short notice, at times
    • Current Permanent US Work Authorization Required

    Education

    • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree highly preferred
    • MBA or MHA with a concentration in corporate finance, accounting, economics and/or healthcare administration is strongly preferred

    Work is generally done sitting, talking, hearing and typing. Visual acuity to use a keyboard, prepare and analyze data and figures; transcribing, viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.

    Work Environment

    • Travel Required: 75% or more.
    • The role is remotely based.
    • Work is regularly performed in a combination of office, home office, and client settings, and routinely uses standard office equipment.
    • It may require the maintenance of a home office and proximity to an airport for work related travel.
