    Sr. Data Engineer

    Based in one of our many offices located in the USA, you will be working within our world-class data organization to help modernize and scale our data warehouse to power our data-driven organization and support our rapidly evolving and growing data needs.

    You will work

    to support our modern data stack of Fivetran, dbt, Airflow, and Snowflake.

    You are someone who can operate at a company that grows as fast as ours by being able to deal with multiple moving pieces while still holding up quality, long-term thinking, and delivering value to our customers.


    What You'll Do:


    Work closely with the Analytics Engineering, Business Intelligence, and Data Science teams to support our modern data stack infrastructure (Fivetran, dbt, Snowflake, Thoughtspot, Airflow, AWS, Atlan).

    Understand the pain points and create solutions that are built to last.

    Evaluate, optimize, and implement standard practices for data ingestion, ETL and data engineering processes, and data quality frameworks.


    Collaborate with engineering and SRE teams to ensure reliable and scalable data storage, processing, and monitoring solutions that follow Navan standards.

    Get hands-on with our data. You'll gain expert-level knowledge of our data models, ensuring data quality and integrity.

    Document technical specifications, data flows, and system configurations, and contribute to our existing runbooks.

    What We're Looking For:

    5+ years of experience as a data engineer

    Experience building and maintaining ELT/ETL from scratch.

    Fully immersed expertise in Python, SQL, and modern tools such as dbt and Airflow.

    Experience working with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake is a plus)

    Experience with Github, Jenkins is a plus

    Demonstrated experience in data modeling (any methodology) and implementation


    The posted pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the compensation for this position and is subject to change based on business need.

    To determine a successful candidate's starting pay, we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location, an evaluation of the candidate's skills and experience, market demands, and internal parity.

    For roles with on-target-earnings (OTE), the pay range includes both base salary and target incentive compensation. Target incentive compensation for some roles may include a ramping draw period. Compensation is higher for those who exceed targets. Candidates may receive more information from the recruiter.
