    *Position will oversee transportation for campuses in Inverness, Parker, Castle Rock, and Aurora.*

    Overview:

    The Transportation Services Coordinator is responsible for daily transportation operations in their assigned region. Additionally, this position will coordinate vehicle maintenance requests, assist in creating transportation strategies to serve school families, plans and supervises regional bus routes, assists the Transportation Dispatcher with the planning and execution of field trips, ensures compliance and training needs are met per department guidelines, and actively supports CEC member schools.

    Job Duties: (Note: The list is not considered inclusive of all duties; it focuses on the primary and most frequently recurring duties.)
    • Supervises daily transportation operations in their region.
    • Creates, updates, and removes bus routes stops in coordination with CEC school needs and the CEC Safety and Security department.
    • Communicates school transportation route details to key stakeholders.
    • Ensures that route and field trips needs are covered in a timely fashion.
    • Communicates with drivers to provide instructions, updates, and support.
    • Responds to all transportation-related inquiries by regularly communicating with the Heads of School or school designee.
    • Provides high levels of customer service and acts as a point of contact for schools and families.
    • Ensures all data is entered accurately into transportation systems as needed (Infinite Campus, Zonar, SEON, etc.).
    • Works with Human Resources and the Head of School to ensure staffing needs are filled based on need.
    • Establish spending priorities within the region for maintenance, office supplies, and other expenditures.
    • Works with the CEC Finance department to ensure the timely completion of the annual CDE40 report.
    • Collect monthly mileage logs and fuel receipts from drivers.
    • Assists Human Resources in keeping accurate and up to date data for compliance purposes.
      • Driver training.
      • Bus maintenance.
      • Other requirements as needed.
    • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal transportation regulations and CEC Standard Operating Procedures.
    • Partners with the Safety and Training team to investigate all transportation related accidents, incidents, and complaints.
    • Coordinates student behavior concerns and other needs with the student, driver, Head of School, and parents as needed.
    • Coordinates with campus nurses to determine student medical needs.
    • Participates in weekly Transportation Leadership meetings.
    • Will serve as a school bus substitute driver as needed.
    • Helps to develop a comprehensive transportation strategy for each member school which will encompass:
      • School bus transportation.
      • Ride sharing.
      • Car pooling.
      • Walking routes.
      • Biking routes.
      • Parent pick up and drop off.
      • Public transportation.
    Conditions of Employment:

    Qualifications

    Education/Training/Qualifications:
    • 3-5 years of experience in pupil transportation or other transportation related field.
    • Knowledge of safety standards, laws, codes, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to pupil transportation.
    • Familiarity with best practices and techniques of vehicle maintenance.
    • Demonstrated experience in supervising employees.
    • Ability to operate school bus.
    • Ability to work well under pressure and use sound judgment, including appropriate handling of confidential matters.
    • Ability to use computers and electronic equipment to fulfill job duties.
    • Valid CDL with applicable endorsements required.
    • Clean driving record required.
    • Ability to travel as needed across the state of Colorado.
    • The ideal candidate for this position has strong leadership skills and can communicate effectively.
