    Description

    Apex Systems is seeking a remote Senior Windows Server Administrator for one of their top clients. This role will support a windows server upgrade to 2019.

    Your responsibilities will include:

  • Upgrading Windows Servers:
    • Collaborating with the team to execute server upgrades.
    • Performing in-place upgrades or clean installations to move to newer versions of Windows Server.
    • Keeping server roles, features, and data intact during upgrades.
  • Server Installation and Configuration:
    • Installing and configuring Windows servers, including setting up hardware and software.
    • Managing user accounts and ensuring seamless integration with existing network systems.
  • Monitoring and Maintenance:
    • Identifying potential issues and addressing them proactively.
    • Performing routine maintenance tasks such as software updates, patch management, and security measures.
  • Security Management:
    • Implementing and managing security protocols to protect data and systems from cyber threats.
    • Configuring firewalls, encryption, and intrusion detection systems to prevent unauthorized access and breaches.
  • Backup and Recovery:
    • Establishing and managing backup procedures and recovery plans.
    • Ensuring data integrity and availability in case of system failures or disasters.
  • Documentation and Troubleshooting:
    • Maintaining accurate documentation of server configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps.
    • Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues.
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
    • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, MCSA: Windows Server) are a plus.
    Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of Windows Server operating systems.
    • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting.
    • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
