    QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. Valid New Jersey School Psychologist Endorsement OR Valid New Jersey Educational Services Certificate and School Social Worker Endorsement
    2. Minimum experience as determined by the Board of Education
    3. Knowledge of laws and regulations governing special education and/or demonstrated ability to effectively provide testing, psychological evaluation and counseling services as per N.J.A.C 6A14.
    4. Effective problem-solving, strong interpersonal and communication skills
    5. Independent use of word processing, E-Mail, Internet and appropriate software applications (Frontline IEP, Genesis, Google Suite, etc.) is highly desirable.
    6. Required criminal history check and proof of U.S. citizenship or resident alien status
    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Conducts educationally relevant psychological evaluations of children and writes reports with educationally relevant information OR Conduct social history assessments to assess past and present personal and family history, social-emotional/ behavioral status, socio-economic and cultural differences.
    • Participates in the identification, evaluation, and program development as appropriate for special education students.
    • Develop and or oversee an Individualized Education Plan as per New Jersey Administrative Code.
    • Conduct risk assessments as part of a multi-disciplinary team to assess student safety as needed per District Policy 5350.
    • Work collaboratively with related services, administration, teachers, school staff, behaviorists, nurses, aides, parents, and students to coordinate, develop, and facilitate the implementation of student learning programs/needs and monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of individualized education plans .
    • Serve as a case manager as assigned and works in collaboration with Child Study Team administrative staff to maintain appropriate case records.
    • Provide both individual and group school-based counseling to special education students as dictated by IEP and Social-Emotional goals/objectives
    • Maintain professional competence through continuing education and other professional growth activities.
    • Observe pupils in classrooms and other school settings.
    • Perform all duties required as a member of the child study team by administrative code, state and federal laws and board policy.
    • Perform other related duties as may be assigned by the superintendent or Director of Special Services, Supervisor of Special Services, and building principals.
