Maintenance Technician

Boone Supported Living (BSL)

Full-Time | Jefferson City Area


Starting Pay:
$20/hour

Position Summary

Boone Supported Living is seeking a dependable, self-motivated Maintenance Technician to support multiple residential homes and company vehicles.

This role focuses on preventative maintenance, safety, and upkeep to ensure safe, comfortable living environments for the individuals we serve.

Work orders are assigned through electronic requests, facility checks, and direct communication.

Primary ResponsibilitiesHome & Property Maintenance

Complete routine maintenance requests and preventative upkeep
Maintain smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
Perform basic HVAC maintenance and filter cleaning
Clean dryer vents and gutters
Caulk kitchens and bathrooms
Paint interior and exterior surfaces
Identify and address safety hazards

Grounds & Exterior Care

Mow and trim lawns
Manage landscaping and weed control
Maintain decks, fences, and exterior structures
Spread ice melt, shovel snow, and ensure safe walkways

Safety & Repairs

Detect and report major repair needs
Repair minor issues to prevent future problems
Support staff with safe use and upkeep of household equipment

Vehicle Maintenance

Perform routine upkeep and minor maintenance on company vehicles
Monitor vehicle condition and report service needs

Operational Expectations

Perform preventative maintenance to reduce future repair costs
Maintain safe, clean environments in all homes and work areas
Identify questionable conditions and take appropriate action
Work independently and manage time effectively
Attend required meetings and trainings

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, bend, kneel, reach, push, pull, and grasp for extended periods
Lift and move 50–100 pounds
Use manual and power tools regularly

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
At least 1 year of general maintenance or related experience
Valid driver's license with insured, reliable vehicle (daily use required)
Own basic tools for home repair
Ability to work independently and stay organized
Strong safety awareness and problem-solving skills
Good communication and customer service skills
Clean background check and Family Care Safety Registry eligibility
Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid, Abuse & Neglect Prevention, and other required trainings

Schedule

Monday–Friday

Occasional evenings or weekends as needed

Additional Requirements

Must pass criminal background check and FCSR screening
Subject to random drug and alcohol testing
