- Design and analysis of optomechanical components and optical devices to meet alignment requirements
- You will create hardware specifications from product requirements
- You will create designs that are manufacturable and reliable
- Work closely with manufacturing and operations to ensure a smooth transition from concept to a fully scalable high-quality products
- PhD degree in mechanical engineering, Physics or Optical Engineering preferred
- Exceptional CAD and product documentation skills
- Experience with designing machined components and DFM
- Experience with optical design simulation in Zemax and the integration of optical models into CAD software packages.
- Strong hands-on experience building prototypes, test apparatus, and fixtures.
- Machine shop and fabrication skills
- 5+ years of precision opto-mechanical design, assembly, and systems engineering
