    We are seeking a Resident Engineer for construction management of highway structures projects. This position will report to the Sector Manager and will be responsible for supervision and inspection of construction work and monitoring of contractor activities for compliance with all state/district and federal laws, ordinances, regulations, and requirements.

    Responsibilities:
    • Conduct construction supervision and field inspections.
    • Coordinate between field inspectors and contractors representative to supervise the work being performed and testing being conducted.
    • Monitor the progress of the work and report any major deviations from schedule, contract price, or quantity of the work.
    • Support construction manager in project management, contract administration, and quality assurance and control.
    • Support Senior Project Manager in coordination with utility companies, and all involved government agencies and public outreach with respect to all aspects of construction.
    • Track submittals by contractor to ensure reviews and approvals are in place prior to construction.
    • Maintain records, books, docs, papers, accounting records relevant to the cost incurred during the performance of the work.
    • Perform final inspection, preparation of punch list, contract completion, final acceptance and close out.
    • Attend progress meetings and prepare correspondence.
    • Other responsibilities as assigned.
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
    • Candidates must meet one of the DOT Agency requirements:
    • P.E. license required and at least 5 years of surface transportation experience as a Resident Engineer, or
    • NICET IV Certification with 10 years of surface transportation experience as a Resident Engineer/Project Manager, or
    • 10+ years of Bridge/Highway Construction Inspection experience, including 5+ years in a Resident Engineer role
    • Candidate must have access to reliable transportation.
    • Must have the knowledge and ability to utilize computers, including the latest versions of office productivity and project management software, in daily activities.
    • Experience with at least one of the folowing agencies: NJDOT, NJ Turnpike Authority, NYSDOCT, NYCDOT, NYS Thruway Authority.
