    Description

    Nature of Work:
    Individual Contributor who can work on transformational tasks and advisor to operations team on critical issues & continuous improvement of Storage Environment


    Technical Skills:
    Review, approve and coordinate Storage related changes.

    Ensure that procedures are properly documented and followed.

    Provide expertise analysis and recommendations.

    Drive initiatives and assist with new implementations.

    Report on on-going issues and ensure that they are prioritized correctly.

    Escalate problems when needed.

    Ensure the team members are trained and conduct training session as needed.


    Ensure that emergency procedures such as catalog forward recovery, alternate master catalog and HSM CDS recovery are tested at regular basis and known by all team members.

    Investigate and compare new technologies, such as cloud storage, and make recommendations. Act as an advisor to management on technological direction.

    Understand TS7700, DS8900 architecture and features. Provide review and recommendation about new features and capabilities. Report what should be implement or not.

    Prepare and submit storage related I/O gen request to the Hardware team, review I/O gen report for accuracy.


    Lead storage (tape and DASD) tech refresh projects, including plan (design and preparation) to move to new devices with minimum disruption to the business, back out procedure, and execution coordination.

    Responsible for critical problem solving, process and procedure development for Mainframe Storage related changes.

    Researching new technologies and providing recommendations for Ford to evaluate

    Being on top of industry/segment trends. Development and Recommending Storage Management Strategies

    Supporting Cloud Migrations

    Mainframe application modernization efforts

    Planning/Implement Storage tool conversions, as required

    Leading/implementing Proof of Concepts (POCs), as required

    Focal point for system audits and process improvements.
