- Congenital heart disease/defects, surgical CHD, heart failure, arrhythmias, transplant, VAD
- Age range: neonatal through young adult
- Occasional adult CHD patients 24 pedi CVICU with overflow to 12 bed unit next door
- May float to care for cardiac patients in NICU, PICU or Acute Care
- 18 month Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU experience required
- Nurse : Patient Ratio by shift: 1:1, 1:2 for ICU status, 1:3 for stepdown/non ICU
- Minimum # Years in Specialty: 2 Certifications Required: BLS, PALS Certifications Preferred: ACLS
- BLS and ACLS
- National Institutes of Health (NIH)
- Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- The ability to stand for extended periods.
- Strong technical skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Passionate about patient care
- Requires a minimum of two years of current RN Pediatric ICU experience.
- Graduate from a fully accredited RN program
- Active unencumbered RN Texas state license
- One year of Epic experience
- PALS certification
- COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster.
- Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.
- Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
- Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
- Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
- A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
- Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
