    Job Description

    We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to provide top-notch maintenance services for commercial heating and air conditioning systems.

    Summary/Objective: To work independently, providing maintenance on commercial HVAC systems according to company standards, delivering an exceptional customer experience. May perform diagnostic calls in some situations. Systems can range from small to large, up to 50 tons.

    Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position with general business hours from Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with occasional weeknights, weekends, and evenings.

    Required Qualifications/Experience:

    • Pass a drug and background screen
    • Hold a valid driver's license and be insurable through our company insurance carrier
    • Minimum of 1 year of commercial HVAC service work experience
    • Able to communicate clearly in English both verbally and in writing
    • Ability to work safely with tools used in the job

    Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

    • Completion of an HVAC training program

    Essential Duties:

    • Arrive at the jobsite at scheduled time and location as dispatched
    • Relocate from one jobsite to another during the workday as dispatched
    • Report to the dispatcher when arriving and leaving the jobsite
    • Operate company vehicles as needed
    • Follow instructions from supervisors and/or dispatchers and complete tasks in a timely manner
    • Report any issues with company tools or vehicles promptly
    • Communicate with customers and collect C.O.D. for maintenance and demand service visits as directed
    • Ability to work staggered schedules if required
    • Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times
    • Complete all service-related forms properly
    • Provide customers with new or renewed maintenance agreements
    • Perform routine preventative maintenance on light commercial equipment with minimal assistance and supervision, including completion of maintenance checklists in full
    • Inform and educate customers about additional products or services available through our company
    • Inform customers of replacement options following company guidelines
    • Be on call for emergency service as required
    • Develop basic knowledge and skills in low-voltage wiring installation and layout
    • Develop basic knowledge of diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques
    • Develop knowledge of proper interpretations of testing devices
    • Develop soldering skills
    • Develop enhanced customer service skills
    • Perform filter changes using filter checklist paperwork unassisted
    • Develop skills to perform planned maintenance on light commercial systems using maintenance checklists with assistance from a Service Technician
    • Inform and educate customers about commercial planned maintenance agreements
    • Acquire commercial planned maintenance agreements
    • Develop basic knowledge and ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams
    • Other duties as assigned

    Work Environment: The environment consists of extreme variations due to conditions, including heat, cold, wet, wind, sunlight, absence of light, insects, animals, mammals, reptiles, and other conditions deemed by the worksite.

    Physical Demands: Reaching, bending, stooping, walking, sitting, crawling, and squatting. Holding, carrying objects, and lifting heavy objects such as equipment up to 200 pounds. Use of tools and equipment like hand tools and ladders, including extension ladders.
