Electrical Hardware Design Engineer – Computing and Interface Products

Location:
Sterling Heights, MI

Pay:
According to Experience (Contract Position)

About the Role:

As an Electrical Hardware Design Engineer specializing in Computing and Interface Products, you will play a pivotal role in generating requirements and designing, debugging, and testing ruggedized electrical hardware circuit boards and assemblies.

This position will require a strong commitment to on-site presence due to the nature of the work, with up to 90% of the role being on-site.

Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop electrical components and subsystems for processing and interface products.
Provide support throughout the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to production delivery.
Participate in system architecture analysis, trade studies, and engineering reviews.
Develop and review hardware and software requirement documents and test plans.
Support circuit design, component selection, procurement, and prototype hardware debug and builds.
Maintain detailed records of design changes, debug status, and hardware/software revisions.
Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and demonstrate strong multitasking skills.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
Minimum of 2 years of applicable experience required.
Proficiency in using engineering development and test tools.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with teams.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Desired Knowledge and Experience:
Experience in digital and analog design, including power and thermal analysis.
Familiarity with microprocessor-based products and single board form factors.
Knowledge of industry-standard interfaces and products.
Proficiency in embedded microcontroller hardware and programming (C, C++, Visual Studio).
Familiarity with FPGA design and simulation using Xilinx Toolsets.
Understanding of EMI/EMC and high-speed signal integrity design practices.
Previous experience with military design and test requirements preferred.
Familiarity with Six Sigma design tools including DFMEA and reliability analysis.

Additional Information:
US citizenship is required for this position due to the nature of the contract.
Eligibility to obtain a US security clearance may be required.
Previous experience working on ground combat vehicles is desired.
Must be willing to work occasional evening and/or weekend overtime as required.
