The has a permanent opportunity for a Safety Specialist 2. The Oregon State Hospital provides patient-centered, psychiatric treatment for adults from throughout the state who need hospital-level care. Our primary goal is to help people recover from their illness and return to the community. What will you do?
The purpose of this position is to analyze and coordinate activities and reporting related to hospital safety in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, the Joint Commission (TJC) and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Service (CMS) requirements, and Oregon State Hospital (OSH) policy. This position is responsible for ensuring the health and safety of OSH staff, patients, and visitors by evaluating safety program effectiveness and compliance, Risk Assessments to include but not limited to Environmental Suicide Risk Assessments, Product Risk Assessments, safety rounds and fire life safety inspections. Communicating recommendations to hospital leadership to improve safety policies through committee involvement.
This posting will fill (1) Safety Specialist 2 position at the Junction City Campus of the Oregon State Hospital that are permanent and are full-time. This position is classified as represented by a union, SEIU.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field; and two years of experience in Workers' Compensation insurance loss prevention or as an occupational health and safety representative in an industrial, manufacturing, government, utilities, institutional, or agricultural setting
OR
Five years of experience in Occupational Health and Safety consultation work in an industrial, manufacturing, government, utilities, institutional, or agricultural setting or in Workers' Compensation insurance loss prevention.
