Oakland University's School of Health Sciences department of Interdisciplinary Health Sciences is seeking applications for a Special Instructor (SI) in clinical nutrition.
This position will teach undergraduate nutrition and dietetic students practice standards in the field of dietetics through a variety of courses including Medical Nutrition Therapy and Ethical Practices in Nutrition.
In addition to teaching, the SI will provide leadership in service activities that support the successes of students, and community, demonstrating continuous commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, and the mission of Oakland University.
As a faculty member teaching core courses within the ACEND accredited dietetics program, the SI will actively participate in accreditation activities of the dietetics program, in curriculum development, program advancement and assessment.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must at a minimum have earned a Masters degree from an accredited university in an applicable field (nutrition, public health, psychology, exercise science, etc).
Applicants must be a current Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetics Registration and be able to provide the RD identification number.
Applicants must have a minimum of three years experience practicing as a Registered Dietitian in a clinical setting. Candidates must demonstrate exceptional written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, anda continuous commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.Preference for candidates with teaching experience. Preference for candidates that show leadership within the nutrition field through professional membership and community organizations.

Public and Environmental Wellness, Human Movement Science, Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences, and Interdisciplinary Health Sciences (IDH).
