About this Unit:

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to work in an acute care surgical unit? Then the 2nd Floor General Surgery Unit might be the right fit for you This 30 bed unit focuses on caring for post-op general surgical patients and has a telemetry capability of 26.

The General Surgery team cares for surgical patients, including Vascular, Bariatric, Thoracic, GI, Maxillofacial, Urology, and Gynecology. As with all units at Southdale, this team is committed to delivering high-quality care and excellent patient experiences.

This position works 60 hours per pay period, 12 hour night shifts (7pm-7:30am) with every third weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).

Responsibilities/Job Description

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s).

The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act.

The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• MN RN License
• BLS for Health Care Provider

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN
• Recent within one year med/surg RN experience.
