    Job Summary:

    Florida Tech invites applications and nominations for the position of Vice President for Administration and Finance/Chief Financial Officer. The successful candidate understands institutional priorities and is well versed in complex budgeting strategies and planning revenue streams and funding mechanisms. The successful candidate must be a creative and innovative leader, with strong interpersonal communication skills and a focus on collaboration and teamwork.

    The position provides leadership and oversight for the development and execution of a sustainable financial model for the University that anticipates and responds to the opportunities and challenges of the higher education environment. The position is responsible for the management of operating budgets and financial reporting, accounting and business operations, audit and treasury functions, human resources, University dining operations and housing management, and maintaining the universitys five-year financial plan.

    The successful candidate for this position promotes operational excellence through cross-departmental collaboration and possesses a demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret and effectively communicate statistical and financial information to internal and external stakeholders.

    Duties:

    Reporting directly to the President, the Vice President for Administration and Finance /Chief Financial Officer is responsible for, oversees, directs, and leads in the following functional areas:

    • Financial planning and budgeting.
    • Developing and maintaining a five-year financial strategic plan which aligns with the Universitys strategic plan and campus master plan
    • Accounting and business operations
    • Financial reports and audits
    • Treasury functions,
    • Procurement and contracting
    • Auxiliary operations, including dining and housing services
    • Oversight of human resources
    • Reporting to, informing and updating the President and Board of Trustees on annual budgets, capital plans, consolidated financial statements
    • M anagement of endowment policies and procedures as well as investment and spending strategies and maximizing return on invested funds in conjunction with the Universitys investment advisors and the Investment Committee of the Board of Trustees.
    • Providing strategic leadership in planning for university growth, resolving financial issues and evaluating financial performance against objectives.
    • Ensuring compliance with Board of Trustees' policies; college, county, state, and federal regulations; FASB and GAAP; and other statutory requirements
    • Developing and managing finance policies, including policies on capital assets, equipment inventory, non-capital asset property, and inventory control
    • Represent the President and the Institution at internal and external group meetings as needed
    • Foster an environment of inclusivity, equity, respect, and integrity
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the President.

    Qualifications:

    • Earned Masters degree in Finance, Accounting Business Administration, or related field, CPA preferred
    • Minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in finance, management, and administration, preferably at a higher education or non-profit institution
    • Demonstrated knowledge of budgeting, accounting, FASB, and GAAP accounting for higher education as well as change management
    • In-depth knowledge of enrollment forecasting methodologies and proven ability to produce multi-year financial plans
    • Demonstrated commitment to working with and supporting diverse populations, and awareness of issues affecting women and minority populations.
    • Demonstrated familiarity with campus ERP systems, including Workday, Banner, Slate, Canvas, and other similar systems. Experience with Workday highly preferred.
    • Evidence of developing and implementing initiatives that contribute to the strength and sustainability of the organization
    • Demonstrated innovation and entrepreneurship in revenue generation
    • Track record of successful leadership and management of personnel and resources in a large and complex organization
    • Demonstrated ability to foster teamwork and to work with cross-functional teams
    • Results oriented, strongly organized, with excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

    The Annual Security and Fire Safety Report
