    Our Line Cook positionis an ideal opportunity for a cook with at least two years of consistentcooking experience in an upscale restaurant and/or hotel restaurantenvironment.     Full Time: 12pm - 8:30pm

    Job Summary:

    Line Cooks prepares and providesfood service to residents in a cost-effective, efficient manner to safely meetresidents' needs in compliance with federal, state and local requirements.

    Common Responsibilities:

    •Assists the chef todetermine the amount and type of food necessary to prepare the daily menus.

    •Prepares all food itemsaccording to recipes and portion sizes given to you by Chef and Sous Chef
    • Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at the station to assure a smooth service period.
    • Monitors the use of food to eliminate waste.
    • Assists in the proper storage of all food items.
    • Handles stores and rotates all products properly.
    • Stocks food in compliance with health department policies and procedures.
    • Comfortable working with a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
    • Provide exceptional customer service by focusing on delivering excellent quality food.
    • Serves prepared food in a neat and sanitary fashion according to Chef or Sous Chef preferences Constantly use safe and hygienic food handling practices.
    • Contributes to creative input towards daily meals and specials.
    • Always maintains a sanitary work area, cleans assigned areas of kitchen and assists in all aspects of general kitchen cleanup when required.
    Requirements:
    • High school diploma or GED
    • Minimum 2 years line/prep cook experience in an upscale restaurant setting.
    • Experience with cooking-from-scratch using fresh meats, produce, grains, dairy products, and a variety of seasonings.
    • Knife skills, proper use of measurements, reading recipes, product identification.
    • Knowledgeable of the safe use and proper care of commercial kitchen equipment.
