    DUTIES:

    • The Unit Manager assumes 24-hour responsibility and accountability for the nursing care of all residents on an assigned unit.
    • Supervises licensed nurses and other nursing personnel in the delivery of care and services according to each resident's comprehensive resident assessment and plan of care.
    • Makes daily rounds on unit, audits 24-hour report as completed by Charge Nurses and listens to verbal shift report
    • Analyzes data gathered from rounds and record reviews and acts promptly to resolve problems and to continuously improve quality.
    • Exhibit knowledge of geriatric and general chronic care nursing principles and professional standards of nursing practice to be able to identify, implement and evaluate appropriate objectives and interventions for residents.
    • Makes daily compliance rounds on units at least at beginning and at end of shift to observe, examine or interview residents, to verify information from ongoing shift, to monitor regulatory compliance, to determine staff assignments, and provides/receives report
    • Monitors delivery of care and services to ensure needs are met, tasks are completed and that work of direct care staff is of acceptable quality and quantity
    • Demonstrated competency in collecting data of physical, behavioral and functional ability of long term care residents.
    • Working knowledge of laws and regulations that influence provision of care and services in nursing facilities.
    • Working knowledge and ability to interpret and demonstrate facility policies and procedures to direct care staff.
    • Sufficient organizational and interpersonal skills to assign, motivate staff, elicit work output, improve quality and interact effectively with residents, families, interdisciplinary team members, administration, government officials, consultants and others in addition to staff.
    • Carries out all duties in accord with the facility mission and philosophy.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of and respect for the rights, dignity and individuality of each resident in all interactions.
    • Appreciates the importance of maintaining confidentiality of resident and facility information.
    • Demonstrates honesty and integrity at all times in the care and use of resident and facility property.
    • Assumes responsibility and accountability for nursing services delivered to residents
    • Ability to Provides direct care, administers treatments and medications
    • Organizes and distributes daily assignments to direct care staff consistent with the resident plan of care
    • Supervises direct care staff and makes decisions about resident care needs
    • Ensures that "Flow of Care" is followed.
    • Additional duties as assigned by the supervisor
    • Must have a miniumum one year experience in LTC nurse management
    • Dementia and behavioral care experience is a plus
    • Must hold NJ RN License
    • Proven experience working as an RN in acute or long-term care settings.
    • Previous leadership or management experience is preferable.
    • Strong clinical skills, with expertise in patient assessment, care planning, and administration of nursing interventions.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
    • Proficiency in using healthcare information systems and electronic medical records.
