    DESCRIPTION

    The Compliance Coordinator is responsible for organizing, executing, and ensuring risk mitigation through excellent auditing, training and enforcement of policies and procedures and continual improvement as necessary.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Compliance Support (approximately 90% of the role)
      • Acquire in depth knowledge of all current compliance requirements applicable to Weatherby and ensure all policies and procedures comply with ethical standards and all applicable Federal, State, and industry laws, regulations, and standards including ATF, BIS, and other regulatory agencies.
      • Review company processes in order to identify hidden risks or common issues
      • Perform routine audits and make company improvements encouraging compliance as a vital part of the Weatherby culture
      • Design, and lead employee training sessions related to company compliance
      • Design and monitor control systems to prevent violations of legal rules and regularly assess the efficiency of these control systems
      • Ensure that all ATF forms (including license, permits, destruction records and theft loss reports), reporting and electronic bound books are timely, correct, complete, and up to date in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
      • Completion of Import and Export licenses
      • Develop the maturity of the compliance department to include other areas of compliance.
    • Legal Support (approximately 10% of the role)
      • Research and review basic legal and insurance documents
      • Contribute to case details by providing case relevant information when necessary
      • Liaison with our many legal experts in different areas and for different administrative requests
      • Assist with patent applications by driving documentation timelines

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Experience working with regulatory agencies, attorney's and insurance agencies as well as reading and interpreting compliance and legal documentation.

      • Excellent English language written and oral communication skills
      • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
      • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
      • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
    • Presentation skills
      • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
    • Process management
      • Ability to learn and use Weatherby software system(s)
      • Ability to prepare documents using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
      • Working knowledge of Sage, HubSpot, Network drives and google drive
    • Business Acumen/Problem Solving/Analysis
      • Attention to detail, multitasking and prioritizing
      • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizations exist
      • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
      • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
      • Ability to write, read and recommend changes to contracts, insurance policies, and MOU's.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is not exposed to weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This job operates in a clerical office setting, routinely uses standard office equipment including computers, telephones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, this position may be exposed to the manufacturing/factory environment and be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in this work environment can be loud.
