    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Knowledge and Abilities:

    Subject matter in area of assignment.

    Provide technical assistance to District and school personnel in area of proper

    specialty.

    Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

    Prepare and deliver oral presentations.

    Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with

    others.

    Maintain records and prepare reports.

    Compile and verify data and prepare reports.

    Maintain current knowledge of program rules, regulations, requirements, and

    restrictions.

    Maintain current knowledge of technological advances in the field.

    Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.

    Meet schedules and time lines.

    Plan and organize work.


    Education and Experience:
    Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required. Bachelor's Degree in related field supplemented by three years of related work experience. Additional

    education will substitute for the required experience o a year-for-year basis.

    Work experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year

    basis.


    Licenses and Other Requirements:
    Valid Kentucky driver's license, personal transportation/liability coverage

    As required by educational occupation.


    • Such additional qualifications as the Superintendent or Board may find
    appropriate and acceptable.

    Director of Student Services


    SUPERVISES:
    Assistant FRC Coordinator


    BASIC FUNCTION:

    To work closely with students, their families, staff members, the Advisory Council, the community and public and private service providers to assure that students and their families receive or are directed to locations where they may receive: health services; training for families; parent and child education; child care__preschool and after school; and training for child care providers.


    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Plans, organizes, and implements, and coordinates a project, program, or
    activity and evaluates staff as assigned involved in activities having overall

    impact on school/district.

    2. Develops, establishes, or administers project, program, or activity.

    3. Serves as liaison with other units, departments, or outside agencies as

    required.

    4. Makes recommendations regarding implementation of project, program, or

    activity and evaluates effectiveness as assigned.

    5. Maintains communication and works closely with district staff, local school

    staff, and the community regarding information, developments, and

    implementation of project, program, or activity.

    6. Prepares and assists in preparation of reports, records, and other

    documentation as required.

    7. Accumulates and research data, documents, and other pertinent information as

    required.

    8. Assures compliance with federal, state, and district policy, administrative

    procedures and negotiated agreements as applicable to assignment.

    9. Prepares, delivers, or assists with training opportunities as appropriate.

    Responsibilities Specific to HCPS Assignment:
    A. Assumes responsibility for oversight of the FRC program.

    B. Serves as host to the local advisory body; assumes Secretary

    responsibilities.

    C. Makes referrals to the appropriate service providers.

    D. Serves as chairperson of staff meetings on students in need.

    E. Seeks opportunities to network and promote the development of

    community resources.

    F. Acts as principal liaison to other agencies.

    G. Develops/coordinates/facilitates training for staff (both paid and

    volunteer), council, teachers, families and community.

    H. Evaluates and monitors program components; assures compliance with

    state level reporting requirements and evaluation system.

    I. Supervises and evaluates the aide/trainer.


    • Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by immediate supervisor.

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
    Salary and work day to be established by the Board.


    EVALUATION:

    Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional/Support Services Personnel.
