    Position Title: Assistant or Associate Director of Admissions

    Reports To: Assistant Head of School for Enrollment Management

    Status: Exempt, Full Time 12-month Residential Faculty

    Position Summary

    This position reports to the Assistant Head of School for Enrollment Management and is focused on managing the application process for prospective domestic and international students, ensuring applicants are mission appropriate while meeting the Hill's high standards for academic ability, extra-curricular participation, and personal qualities. This position calls for a high level of customer care and understanding of Boarding School culture. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this position. Start date for this position is July 1, 2024.

    Responsibilities and Qualifications

    The responsibilities of the Assistant or Associate Director of Admissions are, but are not limited to the following:
    • Provide high level customer service via email, telephone, and face to face communications with prospective parents, students, consultants, feeder schools and The Hill School's wider network.
    • Travel nationally and internationally to actively promote the school to prospective families, feeder schools and educational consultants.
    • Ensure prospective students and parents are thoughtfully guided and encouraged through the admissions process in a professional, helpful and efficient way.
    • Participate in Admissions events on campus, off campus, and virtually. Events may include receptions, open houses, and re-visit days.
    • Liaise with members of the athletic and academic departments to organize meetings with prospective applicants and parents, as required.
    • Organize events and follow-up meetings or phone calls in the spring to yield strong matriculation.
    • Join a highly functioning, cohesive, successful, and long tenured admission team that intentionally reflects the culture of The Hill School through hard work, attention to detail, and putting people first.
    • Fulfill other typical faculty duties during the academic year including one season of coaching/program support, and evening/weekend duties.
    • Serve as an Adviser to a group of 5-7 students.
    • Attend seated meals, Chapel, faculty meetings, athletics competitions and arts performances, and other School events. This attendance also serves to provide an understanding of what will make for a successful student in our community.
    • Potentially serve on various administrative and faculty committees and task forces; and
    • Other duties as required.
    A bachelor's degree is required. Experience and demonstrated success working with diverse student communities is preferred, but not required. It is ideal if candidates have prior admission experience, but not required, as well as previous practice with SLATE, our office database. This individual should be willing to travel periodically. Lastly, the Assistant or Associate Director of Admissions should be self-motivated, energetic, and detail oriented.

    Position is contingent upon successful completion of certain background checks, including criminal history background checks, fingerprint-based background checks, reference checks, employment history checks, and educational background checks, upon hire and during the course of your employment, to the extent permitted by law and consistent with the School's policies regarding employment eligibility.
