- Perform daily inspections of plant to ensure all EHS requirements are being met.
- Observes workers to determine use of prescribed safety equipment such as glasses, helmets, goggles, respirators, and clothing. Demonstrates use of safety equipment.
- Investigates accidents to ascertain causes for use in recommending preventive safety measures and developing safety programs. Prepares reports of safety hazards with recommendations for corrective action.
- Organizes and conducts Safety Meetings and Training.
- Reviews existing and develops new Safety and Health programs
- Complies with all environmental, health, safety, and housekeeping programs.
- Oversee and implement EHS programs and training assessments to ensure required training is identified and conducted.
- Conduct regular audits of EHS processes and conducts follow up to ensure compliance and advise plant leadership of findings.
- Analyze injury/illness experience, identify/track injury correlation, determine root causes, determine corrective actions, and communicate this information to plant leadership.
- Manage routine safety reports including data acquisition, documentation, record keeping, monitoring, review, and approval.
- Coach and serve as mentor for all persons on sight.
- Promote a culture in which EHS identifies and resolves conditions that could negatively impact safety, quality or productivity.
- Develop, implement, and manage EH&S policies and procedures designed to ensure compliance.
- Assume Daily Responsibilities of the Safety Manager in their absence.
- Performs other duties, as assigned.
- Degree in Health & Safety or equivalent years' experience in a related field.
- Industrial Hygienist and air monitoring experience preferred.
- OSHA compliance knowledge or experience.
- Science and chemical background
- Computer proficiency.
- Prefer supervisory experience or background.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local regulations and/or requirements
- Environmental training applicable to the job.
- Safety training for applicable equipment.
- Job instructional training.
- Quality system familiarization.
- ISO 14001 awareness, EMS objectives and targets, plant significant environmental impacts
- ISO 45001 Awareness, OH&S-MS Objectives and Goals, Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control.
- If duties require entry to an arsenic or cadmium-controlled area, appropriate respiratory protection must be worn.

I. Position Description
The Plant Safety Supervisor position is responsible for managing, implementing, and administering standardized EH&S processes to ensure safety and health compliance to federal, state, and local regulations as well as Corporate Policies and Procedures.
The Safety Supervisor is expected to contribute to the achievement of company's recognized LEAN principles and corporate savings through managing the elimination of occupational injuries/illnesses, property damage and environmental impacts.
This position will specifically focus on improving and safeguarding the health and safety of all employees & ensuring compliance.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A. PRE-HIRE REQUIREMENTS
A. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
B. WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.
The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and extreme heat.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment.
