    The Team


    The Enterprise Data Solutions (EDS) team is part of the Chief Information Office (CIO) org and comprises of four teams: Advanced Analytics & Insights (Data Science & BI (Business Intelligence)), Knowledge Management, Data Engineering & Data Infrastructure.

    The EDS team's support for Data & Analytics extends across multiple Program Strategy Teams (PST's) and Global Country Offices.

    The Knowledge Management (KM) team is creating the future of KM at the foundation.

    The team's vision is to capture and organize the foundation's knowledge assets and empower all employees with easy and equitable access to these assets to guide decision-making and improve the culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing.

    A key component to enable this vision is an intuitive platform that connects employees to both tacit and explicit knowledge.

    The team is also responsible for building taxonomies and ontologies. Additionally, the team generates data and insights from documents leveraging innovative technologies.

    Your Role


    As a Senior Business Systems Analyst, you will understand the customer needs and identify functional and non-functional requirements for the technology and process solutions for Knowledge Management.

    This role requires proficiency in requirements analysis, solution design, data management and process improvement coupled with the ability to collaborate effectively across various business and technology teams.

    What You'll Do


    Deeply understand the customer's business capabilities, processes, needs, user feedback and work with business stakeholders and product owners to synthesize into a prioritized set of user-centric functional requirements.

    Gather, analyze, and document solution requirements.

    Analyze data and documents from enterprise applications and other data sources to support knowledge management capabilities of search & discovery and information retrieval.

    Lead prototype development, participate in demos & user acceptance reviews, work with technical leads on the creation of design documents and artifacts.

    Work closely with QA (Quality Assurance) to ensure solutions are built and configured to requirements and design specification, coordinate the development of the test plan, test cases and facilitation of user acceptance testing.

    Ensure documentation and transition to operations of solutions and features results in a highly maintainable and supportable system.

    Influence and empower team members while building trust and positive relationships across the team and foundation to help drive the work forward.

    Partner with project manager to ensure the appropriate tasks and milestones for delivery are included in the plan. Work within a fast-paced Agile environment across multiple teams to ensure reliable execution against plan.

    Your Experience

    Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
    8+ years of business systems analysis, solution architecture, or equivalent experience, with a focus on enterprise applications.

    Experience in delivery of global systems leveraging key strengths in business requirements elicitation and documentation, translation to functional and non-functional technical requirements, options analysis, solutions design, test planning and execution, and change management.

    Strong analytical curiosity and innovative problem-solving skills using a systems-thinking and data-driven approach.

    Proven track record of evaluating business and tech needs and translating that understanding into configuration of the software and/or technical specifications for custom development.

    Experience within agile delivery, software development lifecycle and project management processes. Experience in all phases of a project including working with all partners, business users, and technical teams.

    Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate technology impact into business consumable resources for consumers at all levels of the organization.

    Good active listening skills and solid attention to detail
    Ability to function as a bridge across disciplines, such as user design, product owners, business owners, and tech teams.
    Experience with data modeling and data analysis.
    Proficiency in SQL.

    Experience performing data transformations of semi-structured and structured data in different formats such as JSON, XML, CSV, excel, Salesforce or relational databases.

    Familiarity with metadata, taxonomy, ontology, and search.

    The salary range for this role is $151,200 to $226,800 USD. We recognize high-wage market differences where our offices are located, in Seattle, Washington D.C., and Boston (Cambridge). The range for this role in these locations is $164,700 to $247,100 USD.

    As a mission-driven organization, we strive to balance competitive pay with our mission and new hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint.

    Actual placement in the range will depend on a candidate's job-related skills, experience, and expertise, as evaluated during the interview process.
