    Summary/Purpose


    The Cost Accountant position is that will partner will multiple Plant Controllers and help manage overall costing, operational and margin analytics.

    Assist in inventory management and planning activities including budget and forecast. Directly reporting to the Group Controller, working with other department and various levels of plant management & staff.

    #Hybrid (On site in Madison 3-4 days a week)

    Essential Duties

    Full responsibility and oversight of overall inventory-centric accounting.
    Accountable for compliance to corporate cost accounting standards and methodology.
    Establish costs for new products based on the engineering setup. Perform analysis to evaluate / update standard costs as necessary.
    Improve the documentation of key financial processes and controls.
    Serves as a resource to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on more complex assignments/projects.

    Partner with Plant Controllers in preparing and analyzing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position.

    Support monthly close process.
    Review and prepare journal entries as needed.
    Reconcile and review balance sheet accounts to ensure general ledger reliability.
    Calculate/maintain accruals not limited to accruals related to payroll, un-invoiced expenses, and inventory.
    Support cycle counting and annual physical inventory counts.
    Quarterly reporting to the parent company.
    Monthly expense flux analysis.
    Annual budget preparation.
    Assist in CapEx tracking and forecasting.
    Assist in the development of internal controls.
    Process credit memos.
    Perform ad-hoc duties as advised, including supporting special projects.

    Positions Required Qualifications

    Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance
    One to Three years of work experience in a manufacturing environment
    Strong knowledge of GAAP and Cost Accounting
    Must possess excellent organizational, communication and presentation skill sets.
    Ability to excel in a small group that works very closely together.
    Ability to work independently and reprioritize deliverables as circumstances require.
    Ability to work in fast paced, deadline oriented environment.
    Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint
    Strong documentation skills, reporting skills, and computer skills are required
    Ability to travel approximately 5% of the time
