    Description
    Excellent opportunity for a Hospitalist at Carilion Rockbridge Community Hospital, a 25-bed acute care critical access facility located in Lexington, Virginia. Position requires a broad knowledge base in common general medical conditions and confidence in providing care in a setting with limited specialty support required. Must be prepared to provide pre and post-operative care for General Surgery, Orthopedic, and other limited surgical sub-specialty services. An interest in patient education, continuity of care in Chronic Disease Management programs, and providing oversight and guidance for NPs and PAs assigned to the service are essential.
    Highlights:
    • In House Cardiology, Surgery, Urology, Orthopedics, anesthesiology available. Tele - Critical care, Tele - Dermatology and Tele -Neurology support available.
    • Teaching opportunities available including faculty appointment with Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine.
    • 182 shifts/year with flexibility in scheduling.
    • Day Coverage Physician + Advanced care provider covering average daily census of patients.
    • Night coverage provided by the Advanced care provider.
    • Extra shift opportunities available. Lexington, Virginia, is located on I-81 in the central part of the Shenandoah Valley of southwest Virginia, 45 minutes north of Roanoke, and equal distance to Charlottesville, VA, home of University of Virginia. Lexington is also located 2 1/2 hours from Washington, D.C. There are several historical attractions in the area, as well as Washington & Lee University, Virginia Military Institute, and Southern Virginia University. Along with local artisans and ballet or dance, the Virginia Horse Center attracts horse lovers from all over the country to the nationally recognized equestrian events.
