    Description
    JOB SUMMARYThis position performs ordinary, labor intensive tasks commonly related to water and sewer system construction and maintenance. Also assists operator in any way necessary to complete the job. Must be able to work on call duty. Must be available to respond at any hour during an emergency when requested.
    JOB SCOPENo supervisory or budgetary responsibilities.


    QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION, CERTIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
    High School Diploma or equivalent requiredMust possess a valid Class C Driver's LicenseMust possess a valid Texas Class "B" Commercial Driver's License or be able to obtain valid Class B Commercial Driver's permit within 90 days of hire date and obtain Texas Class "B" Commercial Driver's License within 1 year from hire dateMust be able to obtain a Class I sewer collection license and a Class D water license within 1 year of hire dateMust be able to pass a drug test and a doctor's physical examinationKNOWLEDGE,


    SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
    One year of experience in Public Works preferredAbility to understand and abide by City of Conroe and Departmental policies and proceduresMust be able to work on call duty and respond at any hour during an emergency when requestedMust be able to work as many hours as required to complete jobsMust be able to attend after hours classes to renew or obtain required certifications/licenses when necessaryAbility to work as many hours needed to get the work assigned completedMust be able to lift weights up to 100 poundsAbility to understand and follow written and oral instructionsAbility to use all tools to accomplish the job in an efficient mannerAbility to adapt to new technology, new methods and changing conditionsAbility to stand, stoop, kneel, or sit for long periods of timeMust be capable of reading, writing and communicating in EnglishMACHINES, TOOLS,
