Urban Planner III Role

We are seeking a skilled Urban Planner III to join the Planning Studio at the City of Atlanta Department of City Planning. This role will involve leading the design of plans for the city, including infrastructure improvements, affordable housing options, and public spaces.

About the Position

• Develop planning and design concepts, technical solutions, graphics, and reports for projects.
• Collaborate with team members in other offices of the Department of City Planning and other departments within the city to ensure the City's values, priorities, and interests are represented and reconciled in the plans we create.
• Engage communities and neighborhoods in the planning and design process through presentations, workshops, design charrettes, etc.
• Promote the Office of Design and Atlanta City Studio space, team, and skillsets as a resource to other DCP offices and other City Departments.

Requirements

• Broad knowledge of urban planning and design concepts.
• Understanding of the critical nexus between land use and infrastructure development.
• Creative ability to center context sensitivity and craft solutions for Atlanta's rapidly growing and diversifying population.
• Proficient in the Adobe Suite, ESRI ArcGIS, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office.

Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year.
