    AccentCare is seeking a full-time physician to join our team of professionals.

    We make a difference every day to patients and families coping with end-of-life illness in creating a center of excellence in hospice and palliative care.


    The physician is qualified to provide outpatient palliative care to patients with advanced medical conditions with a special emphasis in cancer patients.

    The physician is committed to making palliative services available to all those who would benefit. Participates in on-going educational programs to increase their expertise in caring for patients with advanced medical conditions.

    In addition, the physician will work effectively and communicate well with the members of the oncology and multidisciplinary team and fulfill all other requirements of the position.

    Physician will work with the oncology and multidisciplinary team to plan, provide, and evaluate best clinical care for the oncological patient.

    Serve and support the Provider Relations activities of the organization in addition to input to the Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement (QAPI) committee.

    What You Need to Know:
    Responsibilities of Physician

    Assist in developing the plan of care for each patient/family in coordination with the oncologist and the Interdisciplinary team.

    Participate in clarifying goals of care in conjunction with the interdisciplinary team.


    If needed, certify in conjunction with the Oncology team that the patient's life expectancy is not expected to exceed six months.

    Attend and actively participate in Interdisciplinary Team meetings.

    Maintain a regular schedule of participation in all components of the palliative care program to which assigned.

    Assure availability of physician coverage for routine and emergency situations, arranges coverage when unavailable with a two-week notice provided to the Medical Director for planned absences.

    Participate in establishing written guidelines for symptom control, pain, nausea, vomiting, or other symptoms.

    Assist in developing opportunities to conduct in-service presentations and participate in educational programs for staff.

    Attend and actively participate in patient/family care conferences when requested to do so by the Executive Director or Designee.

    Act as a medical liaison with other physicians in the community.

    Complete all written documentation in a timely manner.

    Qualifications:
    Be the Best Hospice Physician You Can Be

    If you meet these qualifications, we want to meet you

    A physician (Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy) licensed to practice medicine in the state(s)

    Palliative Care Fellowship trained, Board certification or eligible.

    Maintains an active license and DEA in the state where care is being provided.

    Expertise in caring for chronically and terminally ill patients.

    Strong clinical, administrative, and communication skills.
