    Onsite This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Lockport, New York, on a full-time basis.

    The Role

    As a Metrology Engineer, you will work to support plant quality by analyzing 3D scans and supporting CMM equipment.

    What You'll Do

    • Responsible for analyzing 3D scan imagining, developing, and troubleshooting Calypso CMM measurement programs and leading small team of represented metrology employees.
    • Support local engineering department by analyzing, interpreting, and delivering results of 3D image scans for thermal component parts.
    • Work with Quality Systems Lead to seek and implement more efficient and improved method of collecting 3D scanned images of thermal components.
    • Must be able or capable of writing and troubleshooting Calypso programs for thermal component measurements on Zeiss CMM equipment.
    • Lead and continue development of small team of represented employees who perform various metrology tasks including automated and manual CMM measurements.
    • Update, maintain and troubleshoot CMM and other measurement data and results in Q-Das/qs-stat, Hexagon and PCDMIS software programs.
    • Maintain clean and organized workspaces as per GMS Workplace Organization standards.
    • Provide open, honest, constructive, and timely feedback to Quality Systems Lead on all on-going projects and emerging issues.
    • Engage in technical problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts as needed.
    • Co-lead weekly staff Business Plan Deployment (BPD) meeting and update BPD metrics as needed.
    • Will work an occasional week and weekend on 2nd shift supporting plant manufacturing quality engineering needs.
    Additional Description

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
    • 1+ year experience in Quality Engineering/ Assurance tasks
    • Time management; task prioritization
    • Ability to work autonomously; self-driven
    • Lead represented employees.

    Compensation - The expected base compensation for this role is: $67,900 - $104,100. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
