    POSITION SUMMARY
    At Holland Construction Services, the

    Senior VDC Engineer


    is responsible for supporting Preconstruction, Operations, and Business Development with the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and VDC (Virtual Design and Construction).

    This is a critical role in the delivery of projects from conception to close-out. Coaches and mentors less senior team members.


    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
    Use BIM software and VDC processes to create, visualize, and analyze construction projects.
    Create models for quantity take-off, coordination, business development, and visualization.
    Lead, plan, and manage contractors, designers, and suppliers in 3D model trade coordination process.
    Consult with coworkers, contractors, and designers to develop BIM protocols and execution plans.
    Perform quantity take-offs from architect and engineer provided models during preconstruction.
    Review design drawings and models for accuracy and constructability issues and missing information.
    Collaborate with preconstruction team members to optimize estimating and constructability.
    Proactively and continuously educate others on emerging concepts in BIM and relevant modeling.


    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
    3-5+ years of experience in construction industry.
    Associate's or bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related degree preferred.
    Advanced proficiency with Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.
    Experience with wood frame multifamily architectural and structural design coordination for prefabrication of walls and trusses, strongly preferred.
    Experience with 3D coordination of wood framing and working with related framing software Alpine, MiTek, etc.
    Knowledge and experience with drones, VR/AR, total stations, 360 cameras, and related construction technology.
    Strong attention to detail, problem solving, and leadership skills.
    Ability to establish effective working relationships with team and clients.
    Ability and willingness to understand complex information and then simplify it to communicate with others.
