Job description
Liberty United Methodist Church is a two-campus church located in the Kansas City MO northland. We are currently looking for a part-time Facilities Attendant to join our great team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily custodial duties as needed to ensure clean and professional presentation of the church properties.
- Daily restroom, trash, carpet and floor cleaning and restocking.
- Ensure required custodial supplies and materials are available.
- Light maintenance duties
- Room Set-ups and teardowns for events (occasionally weekends)
- Ensure all custodial, set up, and maintenance requests are completed and closed out on daily basis and in timely manner.
- Manage salting and shoveling of walks in inclement weather.
- Other duties as needed and assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required, trade school certification or church experience preferred.
- Attentive, conscientious and observant.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean motor vehicle record.
- Knowledge of custodial equipment and cleaning supplies.
- Displays positive teamwork and communication with others.
- Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office software and internet.
- Good command of English language, both spoken and written.
- Because we are a religious organization, we require an individual with a lifestyle consistent with Christian beliefs and values, especially those outlined in the United Methodist Book of Discipline.
- Stable work history, reliable attendance, and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work extra duties as needed, including weekend set-ups, emergency calls, and other special events.
- Ability to pass Safe Gatherings training and background test within 30 days.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to push, pull, walk, squat, bend, twist, reach overhead, or otherwise maneuver frequently.
- Must be able to climb A-Frame and extension ladders as needed.
- Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted.
- Must be able to see and hear with/without the use of assistive devices.
