    Description
    Position: Personal Banker

    Location: Taunton, MA
    Status: Full Time

    Summary:

    Personal Bankers are responsible for providing prompt, courteous and efficient service and proactively introducing Mechanics Cooperative Bank's products and services. Personal Bankers are accountable for assisting to achieve branch sales goals and objectives while ensuring operational excellence is adhered to. This position requires opening, closing and Saturday shifts and travel to other locations, as needed.

    Key Duties & Responsibilities:
    • Coach staff to always deliver excellent customer service.
    • Participate and support branch sales and cross selling efforts.
    • Process all teller transactions accurately and efficiently.
    • Open new accounts, including consumer and business and manage new account follow-up within established guidelines.
    • Serve as sales champion for all delivery channels (i.e. ATM, Online Banking and Telephone Banking) contributing to branch goals.
    • Establish, maintain, and deepen relationships by cross selling products and services to enhance the customer's relationship including generating referrals to business partners.
    • Perform supervisory functions as needed for reviewing and approving transactions and opening and closing the branch.
    • Create a positive team environment by modeling appropriate behaviors.
    • Responsible for adhering to all applicable Bank policies, procedures, law and regulations.
    • Required to maintain a valid registration through the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) and will be responsible for being in full compliance with all applicable requirements of the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (S.A.F.E. Act).
    • Open and Close branch location, as needed.
    • May be required to assist other branch locations, as needed.
    • Required to maintain a valid driver's license, vehicle registration and personal automobile liability insurance.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    • Comprehensive knowledge of teller operations.
    • Ability to market and refer products to customers.
    • Strong customer service skills and the ability to ask questions to identify needs in order to expand customer relationships.
    • Ability to cross sell, including residential and consumer lending products.
    • Strong compliance and Federal Regulation understanding.
    • Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Knowledge of basic computer functions and strong math skills.
    • Good oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to cultivate a strong working environment by coaching and training tellers on key accountabilities and tasks.
    • Must be able to lift up to twenty pounds.
    • Retail Banking experience or equivalent work experience preferred.
