- Leads orientation and training for new hires, students and other medical personnel; ensures competencies are completed in the required time frame. Responsible for offering remediation with sonographers when necessary.
- Performs ultrasound diagnostic examinations in accordance with Level I and Level II Advanced sonographer.
- Assists in talent acquisition interviews for successful recruitment of sonographer candidates and provides feedback for annual performance reviews.
- May be responsible for High Level Disinfection of devices, supplies and/or equipment.
- Coordinates daily workflow and schedule of the department while maintaining staffing levels based on, but not limited to, call offs, vacations, patient volumes, and training needs.
- Assists with quality assurance projects and assists in the development of exam protocols alongside of or in place of advanced sonographers and communicates results back to departmental leadership.
- Assumes the leadership role in the absence of the supervisor.
- Completion of formal training in an Ultrasound program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) required.
- 3 years of ultrasound experience required. Performance review consistent with minimum of strong/Solid performance on last performance review.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
