    Your Responsibilities
    As an OFP Supplier Quality Engineer for John Deere Waterloo Drivetrain Operations located in Waterloo, Iowa, you will perform quality planning on forgings, driveshafts, wheel & tire assemblies, and other complex assemblies and commodities as assigned, for current products and respective supplier change requests (SCRs), cost reduction, outsourcing, temporary sourcing (farm-outs and spot buys), and CI part improvement projects. In addition, you will:

    • Lead and facilitate quality solutions for urgent shop floor and customer issues, focusing on permanent corrective actions and preventing recurrences through implementing systemic corrective actions.
    • Execute Design Process and Assembly Reviews (DPARs), print reviews, FGRs, and design reviews of new/current products including the definition of product and process key characteristics.
    • Use Six Sigma and other quality tools including Statistical Analysis, Failure Modes & Effects Analysis, and 8D methodology to ensure the identification of quality failure concerns for externally manufactured parts and assemblies.
    • Conduct supplier quality audits, process verification audits, and lead Quality Improvement Teams.

    What Skills You Need

    • Two or more years of experience with quality management, manufacturing processes and/or tooling and gage design .
    • Two or more years of experience with various specific industrial manufacturing processes, such as grinding, milling, casting, forging, heat treating, and assembly, and the associated manufacturing standards, processes, and controls.
    • Two or more years of experience with standard quality management principles and tools (such as FMEA, SPC, Root Cause, Control Plans, Gage R&R, MSA and Capability Studies).
    • Two or more years of experience reading and interpreting complex part drawings, including functional knowledge of GD&T.
    • Two or more years of experience in advanced data gathering and analysis techniques, including statistical analysis.
    • Two or more years of experience in driving a closed-loop corrective action process, including rigorous root cause analysis.
    • Effective writing skills, including grammatical usage, persuasive copy, and style.
    • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% (both domestic and international).


    What Makes You Stand Out

    • Functional experience in the application of machining principles, processes, standards, and controls.
    • Functional experience troubleshooting complex assemblies and stack-up of tolerances
    • Functional knowledge/experience in project management; including effectively facilitating, leading, and managing cross-functional teams
    • Previous experience in Supplier Quality Engineering and/or Quality Engineering
    • Demonstrate a high level of self-motivation and initiative
    • ASQ certifications such as CSQP, CQE, CSSGB, and/or CSSBB


    Education
    Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

    • Bachelor of Arts/Science in a Manufacturing Technology or Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
