    Job Description:

    The Bell Attendant provides assistance with guest needs, hotel needs and department needs.

    Provides service to our guests at a consistent level in accordance with the Ojai Valley Inn's standards and regulations.

    Provides a warm, hospitable greeting and salutation to all guests, realizing that the Guest Services team creates the first and last impressions of the guest experience.

    Ensures that all resort guests are oriented to the property professionally and offered services in accordance with their needs.

    Ensures that all guest items and hotel items are treated with care and respect and that safety is of the utmost importance.

    Essential Requirements:

    • Minimum one (1) year previous experience in a similar position at a Four or Five Diamond Hotel
    • Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record
    • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language
    • Ability to write legibly
    • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations
    • Team player
    • Clear thinker in pressure situations and exercise good judgments
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision

    Desirable Requirements:

    • Previous experience in the capacity of Bell Attendant at an upscale hotel/resort

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    1. Handle incoming and departing guests: greet and provide luggage assistance, ensuring the security of guest luggage at all times.
    2. Display standards of excellence and professionalism.
    3. Work well under pressure and follow directions.
    4. Maintain knowledge of:
      1. Scheduled daily activities.
      2. Daily arrivals and departures.
      3. Hotel features, services and amenities.
      4. Hours of operation for each outlet.
    5. Work in a manner that promotes accident prevention.
    6. Properly handle and maintain sensitive and confidential information.
    7. Comply at all times with OVI standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
    8. Be available to give directions or order transportation for guests
    9. Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a professional, service-oriented manner
    10. Maintain regular attendance in compliance with OVIS Standards as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel
    11. Maintain high standards of appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag while working
    12. Other duties as assigned

    Pay rate is $17.50/hour plus gratuities.
