This is an open position with Toledo Edison Co., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp.This job involves representing the company and customers while performing construction and maintenance work on transmission and distribution lines.
The responsibilities include receiving and completing personal routine work assignments, working with other employees to satisfy customer needs,
- Diagnosing and determining extent of trouble;
- Maintaining proper material tools equipment necessary for work required in an effective manner;
- Installing removing laying out connecting disconnecting per company standards specifications: fittings guys poles towers structures preparing poles lines equipment installing changing insulation assemblies pole top ridge pins upright timber extensions splices terminating cable equipment phasing out meggering joints protective devices grounds cables manholes vaults multiple connectors potheads terminators laterals devices checking transformers voltage levels current transformers metering banking transformers phasing circuits steel tower structural work rigging handling gin pole erection setting operating secondary fault-locating equipment locating faults primary faults assisting others switching transmission distribution circuits cutting tapping transferring circuit loads switching tagging operations unattended substations connection line crew collecting requested data inspecting testing equipment transformer voltage cutovers hazardous material sampling patrolling systems painting towers structures welding operating pole trucks cranes related duties instructing training employees higher classification performing section forward entitled duties constructing maintaining removing repairing conductor fixtures associated facilities lineworker b.
