Position Summary


This position provides pharmaceutical and clinical services for persons in our care (PIOC) in Wisconsin's correctional system through the Bureau of Health Services Central Pharmacy Service in a manner consistent with professional standards and comparable to services delivered in non-correctional settings.

This position also reviews medication orders for pertinent health history information, allergies, and appropriateness of therapy and offers clinical recommendations as indicated.

Candidates Will Benefit From

Knowledge of the workflow in a clinical pharmacy setting.
Knowledge of the principles, methods, and practices of pharmacy operation.
Ability to compound IVs and provide clinical services within the scope of licensure.
Knowledge and experience providing clinical services such as warfarin management, antibiotic stewardship, and medication-assisted treatment
Ability to provide consultation on medication-related matters to other health professionals.
Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to pharmacy operations and practice.
Experience multitasking and/or work experience in high volume pharmacy
Experience working in closed-door pharmacy

Salary Information

This position is in pay schedule and range 15-02 with a starting pay of $59 per hour.

Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire.

Job Details

Limited Term Employees must be residents of the State of Wisconsin.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e.

a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S.

without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.

The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens.

Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.

The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.

Shift:
Availability for rotating shifts during pharmacy hours of operation which are Monday through Friday 6am- 5pm and Saturday 7am- 11am

Qualifications


SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:


Applicants must be a registered pharmacist in the state of Wisconsin with an unrestricted license and maintain licensure during employment.
