    Description

    The Role:

    We are seeking a seasoned Mechanical Engineer (8+ years of experience) to join our growing team. You will be designing and building electromechanical systems. Day-to-day work includes discussions with our design team, 3D and 2D modeling product improvement and new product development, product testing and benchmarking, and communicating with vendors.

    What You Will Do:

    Play a technical lead role for the ME team in taking products from concept, prototyping, test and iteration through to high volume production

    Use system level thinking, organizational and design skills to bring together the ME's for the various sub-systems and make the tradeoffs that lead to final designs

    Be responsible for a portion of the system design

    Bring it all together and ensure a great product on schedule with other engineering disciplines and cross functional teams

    Maintain part revisions and documentation necessary for production

    Support the supply chain team with drawings and models for their orders

    Help production solve quality issues and write corrective action reports and work with suppliers to resolve the issues

    What we expect:

    Bachelors or masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

    8+ years of complex mechanical engineering experience

    Proficiency with solid modeling (Inventor preferred, FEA experience nice to have)

    Ability to produce engineering drawings with robust dimensioning, GD&T and tolerance analyses

    Experience with the following vehicle design categories a plus: Chassis design, Welded structures, Bolted joints and fasteners, Packaging, Castings and forgings, Sheet metal, Suspension systems, Braking systems and wheels, Electrical, Plastics/composite component specification

    Hands on fabrication and testing experience

    Value engineer and cost reduce components

    Able to effectively communicate ideas and give/receive constructive feedback

    Prototyping and general fabrication skills

    Working knowledge of electromechanical systems

    Excellent documentation and communication skills

    Knowledge with Lathes, Mills, NC and CNC Machinery

    CMM knowledge. CAD/CAM Knowledge
