- Operate radioscopic equipment to produce diagnostic scans and measure concentrations of radioactive isotopes in specific body areas
- Properly prepares radiopharmaceuticals for nuclear medicine procedures as requested by physician
- Effectively operates gamma cameras and other equipment; contacts the appropriate person when equipment malfunctions
- Performs quality control checks on the equipment as mandated by regulatory agencies and keeps an accurate log of the checks performed
- Participates in performance improvement activities, quality improvement, and patient safety activities
- Assists in maintaining compliance with internal and external regulatory standards including the code of conduct
- Supports and upholds established hospital and department policies, procedures, objectives, quality improvement, safety, and environmental standards
- Ensures availability of equipment, supplies, and accessories as needed
- Transports patients to Nuclear Medicine exam room; Provides education and technical demonstrations to students, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals
- Assists in orienting and mentoring staff
