    Job Description

    Manor Tool is looking for a skilled Setup Technician to join the team in Schiller Park, IL. This position involves setting up conventional and CNC machine shop equipment, assembly equipment, and various fabricating equipment. It requires experience in setup and on-the-job training.

    Responsibilities:

    • Set up various machinery such as conventional and CNC equipment, drill presses, tapping machines, milling machines, and lathes
    • Ensure accurate settings for each job by checking work instructions
    • Inspect tooling and equipment for issues and report to the foreman
    • Manage inventory, order supplies, and tools for efficient production runs
    • Run production samples, troubleshoot to ensure product quality
    • Check products for quality using gages, micrometers, calipers, etc.
    • Inspect production for defects like burrs, scratches, and rust
    • Train new operators and ensure proper equipment setup
    • Support safety and lean initiatives by following guidelines and seeking efficiency
    • Address production issues and report maintenance problems
    • Sample new production runs, complete pre-production approvals
    • Perform equipment maintenance and store tools properly
    • Provide input for employee evaluations
    • Complete paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
    • Participate in activities to improve skills and product quality
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area
    • Communicate with supervisor about work-related issues
    • Follow all instructions and comply with company policies
    • Resolve daily issues by collaborating effectively with others
    • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

    Requirements:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Minimum 3 years' experience in setup
    • Willingness to complete training programs as required
    • Ability to pass company tests
    • Understanding of safety programs
    • Effective communication skills with production personnel
    • Proficiency in Blue Print Reading and use of measuring equipment
