    Power Mechanical Engineer
    Our client is seeking a Power Mechanical Engineer to assist their organization.

    The client's Nuclear Steam Supply System (NSSS) design engineering organization generates technical requirements and associated design parameters for the modular advanced light water reactor (ALWR) NSSS.

    Utilizing proven state-of-the-art methodologies NSSS components are engineered to nuclear industry standards.

    The person in this position performs design and stress analyses of pressure vessels and piping in accordance with ASME BPVC Section III, and applicable regulatory requirements.

    All work within the NSSS design organization is completed under ASME NQA-1 quality assurance requirements and respective U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission guidelines.

    This role is fully remote.

    Power Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities

    Possesses excellent knowledge in functional discipline and its practical application and has detailed knowledge of applicable industry codes, standards and regulations.

    Performs and documents evaluations of components to the rules and requirements of Section III of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.

    Utilizes the results from these evaluations to optimize component(s) design.

    Prepare and/or review engineering specifications, CAD models, and other documentation that communicate the design and technical aspects of components, systems, and structures associated with the NSSS.

    Familiar with ANSYS finite element software and CAD packages.
    Interprets scope and project requirements.
    Acquires, maintains and develops training qualifications. Provides guidance and mentoring to other staff members in all areas of NSSS Systems and Design.
    Interacts with co-workers and other disciplines to promote effective coordination of design activities and resolution of technical problems.

    Individuals should be interested in acquiring general knowledge of principles and practices of related fields in order to function on multi-disciplinary teams.

    Performs other duties as assigned.

    Power Mechanical Engineer Qualifications
    A minimum of a B.S. degree in Engineering, preferably Nuclear or Mechanical Engineering, from a four year ABET accredited college or university is required. An advanced degree is preferred. A professional engineer (P.E.) certification is preferred.
    A minimum of 10 years of full-time relevant working experience is required.

    Candidates must be able to demonstrate extensive knowledge and experience with engineering design and stress engineering analysis (design by analysis methodology), preferably in the nuclear industry, as well as expertise with the ANSYS computer program.

    Must have expertise with ASME BPVC Sect III - Div 1, with examples

    Industry Requirements:
    Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
