Job Duties:

Handles non-routine to moderately complex data entry and data entry automation projects in the Fiber Manager GIS system Plans fiber route input sequences for construction plans and as-builts including as-builts, preparing necessary maps and sketches, ensures accuracy of slack calculations, and enters correct splicing assignments.

Performs a variety of analysis including, but not limited to, completion of dark lease applications while adhering to regulatory requirements.

Tracks and reports work related functions necessary to support the business processes including creating work requests, GIS/Mapping System, and various other systems.

Provides technical support for automation of data input tasks from construction plans and red lines. Works with hourly and salaried supervisors in scheduling work. Assists network engineering in development of project scopes and schedules by selecting and specifying sites. Interacts with operations managers to assist with map utilization field training. Keeps current in knowledge and understanding of company procedures, rates, rules, practices, standards, and application of construction materials.


Qualifications:
Experience: 2 years of related experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Good knowledge of math, physics, and fiber construction practices. Working knowledge of Fiber Manager or ArcGIS. Demonstrated survey and data input and design skills within a GIS system.


Meeting Minutes from Manager call:
Onsite position Could include onsite IV as well Group supports WAN connectivity for company. Combination of fiber, microwaves, cellular, radio, and other. Also support digital two-way radio and AMI systems. Position needed to support system that runs overtop GIS. Help input data for locations & routes in that system. ArcGIS + other tech skill mentioned on job description = the profile of what he wants to hire. ArcGIS alone would work if needed. GIS Technician with fiber mapping experience.


Alternate titles could include:
Engineer, Engineering Specialist, Fiber Manager, Fiber Technician, Map Technician, Fiber Design/Implementation. That's what he could think of.


Titles that wouldn't work:
Construction Coordinator. 2 years' listed on req is absolute minimum. The more the better.
