    Vector's partner is a growing manufacturing company located in Willoughby, Ohio on Cleveland's eastside, currently searching for a Quality Technician to join their growing manufacturing team.

    2nd Shift - train on 1st Shift 6:50a-3p
    $18/hr., depending upon experience
    POSITION SUMMARY
    Under the direction and supervision of the Quality Manager this position is responsible for processing and ensuring that the best quality material is presented to customers, to inventory, and that all proper procedures are maintained.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Examines incoming, in process and completed materials or products for visual defects and compares to parts list or sample model to ensure completion to customer specifications.
    • Sets up inspection jobs, calibrates inspection equipment and performs in-house inspection and testing of cast materials to verify specified dimensions.
    • Uses measuring tools and diagnostic equipment such as ultra sound machine to perform inspections to products and materials.
    • Rejects defective parts, and marks type of defect on part, container of parts, or inspection records.
    • Interprets drawings, diagrams and confers with management or engineering to determine quality and reliability standards.
    • Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance and mechanical characteristics.
      Maintains all appropriate paperwork, enters and analyzes SPC data, and compiles reports as requested.
      Practices good housekeeping and safety habits, supports and follows company policies and procedures, and performs other duties as assigned.
    QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
    • Must be familiar with ASTM D inspection standards that are related to nylon/plastics industry.
      Must be able to read and understand drawings, blue prints, and production logs.
      Must be able to set up, calibrate, and use measuring devices such as bore gage, calipers, calipers, micrometers, ultra sound machine, etc.
      Must have the ability to prioritize work flow.
      Must have the ability to quickly and repeatedly make adjustments in moving the controls of a machine to exact positions.
      Must be able to give and follow a work instructions or a set of instructions in order to arrange things or actions in a certain order.
      Must have the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
    EDUCATION/TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
    • High School Diploma (or GED)
    • Ability to perform basic math calculations and to read measuring tools.
    • Excellent computer skills with the ability to use MS Office programs such as Word and Excel, and programs specific to the Company and Quality Department.
    Preferred (in addition to the above)
    • Knowledge national and international shipping regulations and procedures.
    • Previous experience with an ISO style quality control system
