As part of Hilton's Tapestry Collection in downtown Bend, our food program reflects our city: casual, elevated, and creative. As a Cook, you'll be part of delivering fresh, memorable experiences from the first bite.
Your Role: Create with Purpose
As a Cook at The Newberry, you'll prepare beautiful, nutrient-conscious breakfasts and curated small plates using fresh, locally inspired ingredients. Whether it's a protein-packed morning scramble or a seasonal charcuterie board paired with a cocktail or craft beer, your work helps energize adventurers, explorers, and wellness-minded travelers alike.
What You'll Do
- Prepare breakfast and small plates to specification and brand standards
- Set up and stock workstations with necessary supplies each shift
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen and prep areas
- Follow recipes and presentation guidelines consistently
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries; manage inventory rotation
- Communicate with front-of-house team to ensure timely, high-quality service
- Uphold food safety, sanitation, and allergen awareness procedures
- Support occasional event prep or custom guest needs
- Keep a clean and organized back-of-house, even during busy service
What You Bring
- Previous kitchen or line cook experience preferred
- Familiarity with basic prep, short-order cooking, and kitchen safety standards
- Ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- A calm, reliable presence in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment
- Pride in presentation and consistency
- Passion for local food and delivering thoughtful culinary experiences
- ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain
