    Job DescriptionAccounts Payable Supervisor

    This role offers the opportunity to lead a team and ensure the smooth operation of the accounts payable function.

    You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and building strong vendor relationships.


    Responsibilities:

    Team Leadership:
    Oversee and guide a team responsible for accounts payable and job cost data entry.
    Provide training and development opportunities for staff.
    Conduct performance evaluations and maintain a positive team environment.
    Manage office administration and ensure efficient front desk coverage.


    Accounts Payable Function:
    Manage an electronic invoice processing system, including user administration, workflow design, and staff assignments.
    Process payments according to established accounting practices and company policies.
    Oversee the 1099 designation, filing, and compliance procedures.
    Manage bank account funding for manual checks.
    Ensure staff can effectively handle inquiries from internal and external sources.
    Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships, ensuring adherence to company policies.
    Implement and manage the credit card receipt policy and accounts payable process.
    Optimize vendor payment terms and manage open items for accuracy.
    Handle escheat filing and remittance on an annual basis.
    Review retainage for monthly release.

    Accounting

    Responsibilities:
    Participate in month-end close procedures and resolve any discrepancies.
    Assist with other accounting projects as assigned.

    Administrative

    Responsibilities:
    Assist with accounting department filing and file management.
    Manage other administrative tasks as assigned.


    Qualifications:
    Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred.
    Minimum 3 years of experience in accounts payable.
    Supervisory experience a plus.
    Experience with 1099 filing preferred.
    Knowledge of sales and use tax preferred.
    Experience with accounting software a plus (e.g., Sage 300CRE / Timberline).
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    Professional demeanor and a positive attitude.
